Doctor Coldtouch

Here's another slice of prog metal/math rock. More Protest The Hero style stuff, but maybe also Black Dhalia Murder thrown in for good measure. Plus the guy is wearing a Coheed shirt in the band photo so you can't go wrong there. They've got a 4 song EP on bandcamp that you can grab for $4. You can of course listen to it as many times as you want for free via the bandcamp website.

Mylets

Mylets is one kid. ONE KID. He's barely old enough to even wear pants. I believe he's been signed to Sargent House which is good because the quality of his recordings will only improve. He plays the guitar in ways that I cannot comprehend. Check out this pay what you want EP 'Colossal Grin'
I guess you'd call it math rock or something.

The Nine Lives of the Parachute Tester

So this is math rock, I guess. I think it's really well done. The thing usually stops me from delving face first into math rock is the lack of vocals, or that fact that in a lot of cases the vocals are second fiddle to the music. These guys and gal have great vocals with plenty of melody and harmony.

This 3 song ep is name your price on bandcamp and it's really, really good. Throw these guys a few bucks if you can manage it. I'll admit I named a price of $0 at first, but I might go back and pay a few dollars to download the EP again.

Get it!
