satanstompingcaterpillars

satanstompingcaterpillars - flower slides (2000)
edit: This album is really fucking good. I wish they were still making music like this.
under green snails, there are birds.
these guys were once the alleghany whitefish. they come from the hills of western PA, are currently calling themselves
black moth super rainbow and are on the cusp of eating a very large meal (i found a copy of the latest BMSR album at my local chain recordstore, have seen them on MTVU, and they opened for The Flaming Lips in 2007).

Flower Slides was the first of 2 or 3 releases as satanstompingcaterpillars, their sound has morphed over the years from noise filled lo-fi rock, to noise filled folk, to what I would call electronic folk. the vocal style has morphed from quiet mumbles to heavily effected mumbles. this album was the second release
on the now defunct fuckeroo lable and is long out of print, doesn't even show up on the bands discog page. BMSR are currently releasing albums on their own 70's gymnastics label. Buy their records if you get a chance.

I once described flower slides as what it sounds like when you're drowning and you've accepted the inevitable, i still feel that way.

There was talk several years ago of Halaka playing a show with these guys, but it was not to be. My only hope is that BMSR mastermind Tom Fec(Tobacco) still occasionally bathes to the sounds of Halaka.
